There are no two ways about it. Israel is conducting a genocide in Gaza. The US is funding it; And other Western powers are cheerleading it.
However, I don’t think either Israel or their Western power-backers realize just how different today’s multi-polar world is. The Islamic powers of the region are not as weak as they once were. Israel is so reviled for their brutalization of the Palestinians, that they’ve somehow managed to get Shia Iran to fund Sunni Hamas for crying out loud. Turkey, until recently a steadfast Israeli ally, has had a 180 degree turn. Egypt is not happy. Even the majority of the citizenry in the West are growing sick and tired of Israel’s ethno-fascist bullshit.
These proverbial chickens will come home to roost. The last settler outpost of European colonialism – where Europe exported its anti-Semitism to become the Palestinians’ problem – is facing an existential crisis one way or the other.
The West is declining, maybe slowly, but declining still. America is not going to keep funding this rabid ethno-fascist state forever.
Israelis and those who identify as Jewish need to come to terms with the fact that Zionism is their worst enemy. Religious radicalism and ethno-fascism ultimately cannibalizes, after causing mass devastation to the “other” it has constructed as an enemy.
Rabid religiosity is fast losing it’s sell-by date for humanity. Technology and the democratization of information is slowly but surely waking people up into an unsure individualism that is thankfully eroding at the foundations of religious communalism. Secularism is winning.
Enough is enough. Humanity is waiting for the religious crazies to get their goddamn act together. These losers are dragging the rest of us down and we’re getting sick of it.
